Church Planter Residency

The residency is a 24-month process starting in August of the year you apply.  

You will get paid a monthly stipend and be required to raise a monthly support goal. Abundant Life Church contribution amounts may vary from resident to resident and may change from year to year.

You can start raising support after you are accepted into the program. We will provide training to assist you. After being accepted, you will begin raising support in June, and all support goals must be met by the end of August. 

Yes. We have found it beneficial to have in-person experience and hands-on training.  

The residency program is offered both full-time and part-time. Weekly hours and residency schedule will be individualized.

Stuart Yoder -  

In the fall of 2022, my wife Amanda and I felt a call to step into a more active church leadership role, one that would allow us to use our abilities of hospitality and our hunger for discipleship. After years of connection with Abundant Life, we were excited to launch our own church house in Jefferson City. This journey has been incredible, and we're passionate about reaching our community with the love of Christ. 

A year after saying yes to God and starting our church house, I found myself again in a place of unfulfillment at my job. Inspired by a sermon from Pastor Phil, God began working and it became clear to me that my greatest fulfillment for the rest of my time here on earth would not be working for man, but rather working for the greater good of the Kingdom of God, placing within me an urgent stirring of eternal purpose. 

 I'm excited to be a part of the Abundant Life Residency program as I, along with my family, continue to trust in the Lord. We are eager to see what He has in store for us and our community. 

Stephen Summit -  

As the son of pastors, I've been exposed to Christian faith my entire life. Yet, it wasn't until 2018 that I experienced a genuine transformation. Through discipleship and a deepening relationship with Christ, I was freed from sin and spiritual apathy. In 2020, we found a loving church home at Abundant Life. 

Since then, God has continually called us to deeper levels of service. After feeling a strong pull toward vocational ministry, we've embraced opportunities to serve in various roles at Abundant Life, including leading small groups, Fusion student ministry, and leading a Church House. Now, we're excited to embark on this next chapter through the AL Residency Program as we take yet another step of faith on this journey toward full-time vocational ministry. 

Cam Perkins -  

My journey to church planting has been guided by faith and a strong sense of purpose. I previously preached the gospel on TikTok, where I found creative ways to share God’s word and connect with people globally. However, when news broke that TikTok might be banned, I realized I needed to seek a new direction. 

Around that time, I learned about a church planting residency position at Abundant Life and applied. I then turned to prayer, asking God for clarity and guidance. My prayer was simple: if I was offered the position, I would know that this was the path God wanted for me. If not, I would continue to trust Him for what came next. When I received the job offer, it was the affirmation I had prayed for. That moment marked the beginning of a new chapter in my calling, one that continues to deepen my commitment to serving others and spreading God’s message to those who are far from Christ.
