Mark was an eyewitness to the life of Jesus, and in Mark 1, we see the example of Jesus, the sinless Son of God, at His baptism. Baptism doesn't bring about our salvation, but it's an outward symbol of an inward commitment. Baptism is a public declaration and the fitting response to being born again.
