Meet Evan and Farah Lang | Sponsoring a Child Through Compassion

Evan and Farah Lang started sponsoring a Peruvian girl through Compassion International five years ago. Through Abundant Life’s partnership with Compassion International, the Lang family was able to give away what God gave them so that the girl’s life could be changed by Jesus.

The Lang family values gratitude and compassion. By sponsoring a child, they were able to teach their kids gratitude for what they have and compassion for loving people like Jesus. Their kids pray for and write letters to their sponsored child to let her know how loved she is.

While visiting the Compassion Resource Center and church plants in Tarapoto, Peru, Evan and Farah met their sponsored child and saw how these places teach, feed, and share the love of Christ with the children in the community.

Farah says, “It’s been an honor and a joy for us to sponsor a child and share with others what God has given us and ultimately see lives changed by Jesus.”

Evan challenges believers by reminding us that Jesus wants us to give joyfully out of obedience to Him. If Jesus calls you to sponsor a child, do it! You’re going to be blessed because of it and you’ll know that you’re blessing someone else’s life tremendously.
