What is Night to Shine? Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God's love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. All activities are complimentary.

What to expect? A catered dinner, red carpet experience, dance floor, special crowning ceremony, a Caregiver Only Experience, and more!
Caregiver Respite Room
Please indicate on your VIP’s registration if you plan to attend the Caregiver Only Experience.
*Caregivers staying on-site must register for the Caregiver Respite Room or as a volunteer in a support role or as a buddy to your VIP or another.

Male & Female VIPs registered to attend Night to Shine at Abundant Life are invited to “shop” for dresses, dress shirts & pants, ties, shoes, and other accessories at this giveaway event.
Night to Shine is not possible without you!
Volunteers must be 14 years or older.
Roles include: Buddies, Activities, Check-In, Hospitality, Hair & Make-Up, Paparazzi, and more!
*Volunteers are required to attend one in-person training prior to the event, at the Lee’s Summit Main Building. Training dates are (Pick 1):
– Thursday, January 29, 6:30pm-7:30pm
– Sunday, February 1, 6:00pm-7:00pm
– Monday, February 9, 6:30pm-7:30pm
We encourage VIPs to dress up in their favorite formalwear (dress, gown, suit or tux) or whatever makes them feel beautiful or handsome!
Volunteers will have a specific dress code dependent on their role. Buddies are asked to wear formal attire alongside the VIPs.
Volunteers must be 14 year or older and all volunteers under 18 must have parent permission.
No, we will provide all necessary training to be successful in your role! Additionally, we have several support roles that do not require you to work 1:1 with a VIP.
No, Night to Shine is a Christ-centered event open to all individuals with special needs ages 14 and up and qualified volunteers.
The following will be served buffet style for VIPs and Buddies:
• Chicken tenders (GF option: grilled chicken breast)
• Dinner rolls
• Garlic mashed potatoes
• Green beans
• Cookies & fruit
Support volunteers and caregivers will have a boxed Chik-Fil-A dinner.
Yes! However, please note that the church, their staff, and volunteers are not responsible for administering medication to VIPs, assisting with G-tube feedings, or assisting VIPs in the restroom during the event. If assistance is required during the event, a caregiver MUST stay on-site.
Yes! We will have a sensory room and spaces available for VIPs and buddies to take a break in a quiet and calm atmosphere.
Parents and caregivers may drop-off, attend the Caregiver Only Experience, or volunteer!
